Al Horford – Josh Smith
This trio was never flashy or crazy dominant by any means, but they were very consistent during their time together. With the shooting and scoring from Joe Johnson, versatile all-around play from Al Horford and dominant defensive stretch forward play from the once-very good Josh Smith, the Atlanta Hawks were a guaranteed 3-6 seed in the Eastern Conference for over a half decade. Unfortunately, they never could get over the hump in the playoffs, but they were always a team simply couldn’t or they would take advantage of it and beat you. Some people might think the trio of Wilkins-Rivers-Willis in the 80’s and 90’s is the best big three in ATL Hawks history, but I decided to go with the more recent trio out in Atlanta instead.
