5. Tom Fears
Tom Fears quickly made his mark at receiver, breaking the NFL’s single-season record for receptions with 77 in his rookie season. He broke his own record the next season with 84 receptions and earned All-Pro honors during these first two years of his professional career. The Rams had great success during the early part of Fears’ career. The team played for the NFL Championship in 1949, 1950 and finally won it all in 1951. That 1951 game, Fears played an integral role, most notably with his 73 yard touchdown catch that would seal the victory for Los Angeles. Overall, Fears is sixth on the Rams all-time receiving list with 5,397 yards. He would eventually be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1970.
